Asher James Perreaux

We'd like to introduce you to Asher James Perreaux. We brought Asher home from the hospital on Tuesday evening, 18 hours after he was born. He's enjoying the good things in life: eating and sleeping. Mom loves his little faces and poses he makes after feedings. Dad loves it when he falls asleep on his chest.

Asher is a Hebrew name that means happy, blessing. From conception to welcoming him into our family home he has been a blessing to us and we hope his life is a blessing to others. In his blessing of the twelve tribes, Moses says over Asher: "Most blessed of sons is Asher ... may your strength equal your days."

It's a Boy!

Labour began early monday morning and our little perreaux arrived earlier tuesday, March 23rd at 12:46am ( ... or late last night depending on your perspective) and now shares a birthday with his Baba (Grandma Vera). We're keeping everyone in suspense as the jury is out on the name for this beautiful 7lb 8oz boy. The fact that he looks a lot like nephew Kyron ... and not much like his parents might be throwing us off. Andrea was outstanding in her endurance, and in the future will run marathons just for kicks. My summary statement, on the other hand, will continue to be: "no one can really tell you how intense and raw child birth is." I am in awe of mother's everywhere, but especially my elated and joy-filled wife.

blessed,
-James (& Andrea) ... and our little perogie

ps. stand by for another update with said critical identity marking detail, but until then, here are a few photos:
